In private practice I provide assessment and treatment for a wide range of psychological issues.
- Managing stress and balancing life’s demands
- Depression and low mood
- Overcoming trauma
- Sleep disturbance
- Health anxiety
- Resolution of issues from the past
- Building self esteem and self confidence
- Adjustment to life transitions and events (these include parenthood, separation, divorce, retirement, grief or injury).
- Career and workplace issues
Psychological intervention and treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment. Assessment is necessary in order to discover each person’s own unique understanding of who they are and determine the treatment appropriate to their unique situation. I also believe that assessment in itself can be inherently therapeutic as psychological awareness deepens and understanding increases.
My person centered approach to treatment and intervention involves an integration of several therapeutic frameworks with particular emphasis placed upon building a client centered therapeutic alliance, interpersonal relationships and skill development. The application and integration of a variety of therapies enables me to meet the unique needs of the individual.
I have had specific training in cognitive behaviour and solution focused therapy.
